How to discover the DHCP Server in a LAN (Mac OS X Terminal)

 

ipconfig getoption en0 server_identifier

 

ipconfig getpacket en0

According to the manual page for ipconfig, this command appears to be unique to Mac OS X, first introduced in the Public Beta! The command will display a bunch of useful info, including:

server_identifier (ip): That's your DHCP server's IP address.

yiaddr: Your machine's IP address.

chaddr: Your machine's MAC address.

domain_name_server: Your domain name server(s).

 

Il comando ifconfig permette di vedere le interfacce attive e non

 

il comando arp -- address resolution display and control

ad esempio arp -a

(vedi man arp)

 

 

Istruzioni per la connessione alla rete via SMB da Windows 7 Pro:

Click Start

Click Control Panel

Click System and Maintenance

Click Administrative Tools

Double-Click Local Security Policy

In the left pane, click the triangle next to Local Policy

In the left pane, click Security Options

In the right pane near the bottom, double-click "Network security: LAN manager authentication level"

Click the drop-down box, and click "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated"

Click OK
